With so many different mustache styles, it's easy to find one that matches your personal preferences. This chevron mustache is thick and wide, covering the top lip.

Creating the Look

1. Shave your face, but allow the top lip hair to grown to desired length.
2. Allow the top lip hair to grow so it extends a tad outside the corners of the mouth.
3. Trim around the edges of the mustache with scissors or a trimmer with a no guard, leaving it full in length. Do not allow it to grow over the top lip.
4. When hair reaches the same length across the lip, trim with scissors. To ensure an even line, start in the middle and trim out to one side, then trim back to the middle and to the other side.

Maintenance

• Shave daily around the mustache.
• Use a comb and scissors to trimming your beard two to three times per week.
• Keep the shape crisp by using the trimmer along the edges without a guard.

This is a thin mustache with a distinct part in the middle of the top lip and a soul patch centered below the bottom lip.

Creating the Look

1. Shave daily but allow lip hair and hair in the soul patch area (center of chin) to grow. (Note: The soul patch area should be kept to a small area the size of your thumbnail.)
2. Shave above and below the mustache area so it is centered, keeping the center solid until hair reaches the desired length.
3. For the soul patch area, trim with a trimmer using no guard, leaving hair the same width as the center of your nose cartlilage. The shape should be clean, but should not be a defined square or rectangle.
4. Keep the outline crisp by using the trimmer along the edges without a guard.

A handlebar mustache can be worn short or long. The name handlebar is descriptive of the ends, which curve up.

Creating the Look

3. Comb mustache hair down the middle and to the sides.
4. Apply mustache wax by rubbing a dab between fingers and running along hair to turn the edges up.

The horseshoe mustache or 'u' shaped mustached is typically a thick mustache with whiskers grown down the side of the mouth.

Creating the Look

1. Allow facial hair to grow out for two to three days.
2. Shape edges using a trimmer with no guard, leaving hair to extend slightly outside the corner of the lips and down like a pipe.

Maintenance

• Shave daily around the lines of the 'u' shape.

• Trim twice per week either using a comb and scissors or or trimmer with a #3 guard.
• Keep the outline crisp by using the trimmer without a guard along the edges.

This large style mustache is an upper lip-cheek combination which is worn fairly long and styled upward.

Creating the Look

1. Allow facial hair to grow to desired length across the upper lip and cheek area. Depending on the hair growth and texture, this may take about four to six weeks.
2. Make sure there is no divide between the cheek and mustache hair as you allow it to grow out.
3. Use the scissor-over-comb method to shape the hair.

Maintenance

• Wash daily with shampoo and conditioner.
• Apply beard oil to keep the hair soft and shiny.
• Trim once a month to keep the shape using the scissor-over-comb method.

Creating the Look

1. Grow mustache hair to desired length.

3. The key to shaping this style is keeping crisp edges and a very short length so that it is almost see-through. Use a trimmer with a #1 guard to accomplish this.

This Charlie Chaplin style mustache is usually thick and covers about one inch in the center of the lip.

Creating the Look

1. Allow top lip hair to grow to desired length.
2. Shave the rest of the face and keep the hair above the lip to about one inch in diameter.

• Trim mustache edges one to two times per week using a trimmer with no guard to keep the edges defined.

This very large, long, thick mustache hangs over the lip and curls up at the edges.

Creating the Look

1. Allow lip hair to grow long so it droops over the lip and out from the corners of the mouth about 1/4".
2. Using the outside edges of your nostrils as a guide, allow the hair to grow out and down.
3. Shape using a comb and scissors or shaving razor.
4. Tame the facial hair to lie flat by combing it daily.

• Shampoo and condition daily.
• Shave daily around the mustache.
• Apply beard oil daily to keep the mustache soft and shiny.
• Keep the beard tame by using the scissor-over-comb trimming method about four times per month.
• Regular combing will keep this style looking great.
